How to use

RIDDIM ARPEGGIO TRAINER guide

The trainer helps you recognise the difference between a major and minor triad by ear. Instead of hearing the chord all at once, you hear the three notes of the triad played one after another as an arpeggio: root, third, then fifth. Each round has 10 attempts.

Basic mode

You hear two arpeggios on the same root note. The first is either major or minor and the second is the opposite. Choose whether the FIRST arpeggio was major or minor. Use this mode when you are just starting out — comparing the two makes the third note easier to spot.

Classic mode

You hear a single arpeggio. Identify whether the triad is major or minor. The root note is shown on screen — focus on the middle note (the third) to decide.

Bass register

Use the Standard / Bass toggle to switch the arpeggio into the range of a standard 4-string bass guitar (E1–G2). This is great when you want to train your ear in the same register you play in.

  • Press replay at any time to hear the arpeggio(s) again.
  • Listen for the middle note: a major third sounds bright and lifted, a minor third sounds darker and lower.
  • Try singing the three notes back after they play.
  • Pick Major (red, left) or Minor (green, right) after the arpeggio finishes.
  • Switch between modes and registers to keep your ears fresh.
